Robo-Ident-Technologie

Nect, an IT company based in Hamburg, stands for the development and implementation of sophisticated, secure and at the same time user-friendly trust services. The key product Selfie-Ident process, based on the patented Robo-Ident technology performs a fully-automated identity verification using artificial intelligence. The authentication process consists of two steps that the user goes through. Nect ensures that the recording takes place at the current time and has not been tampered with. This is confirmed by testing the vividness of the person in front of the device. During the face recording done through a selfie video, the user is asked to say two randomly selected words. Based on the facial and lip movements, the liveliness is verified.
For authenticity verification, the process requests the user to record their ID document and pan it. This ensures the authenticity of the document by examining at least three security features of different categories of the ID document.

Compliance with the applicable requirements of eIDAS, VDG and VDV, including the supplementary evaluation criteria for automated video identification, was certified for the Nect Robo-Ident module by the accredited conformity assessment body datenschutz cert GmbH.

April 15, 2021: Livegang Nect ID

Nect ID went live in April 2021. If users want to identify themselves for the Bundesagentur für Arbeit (Federal Employment Agency), Deutsche Telekom or Barmer, for example, they can use the Nect app. Here, the Robo-Ident technology comes into play and verifies the users identity based on their physical ID document. After applying the process once, now the Nect ID is created for the user automatically. The Nect ID is a kind of wallet in the Nect app that saves the digital counterpart to the physical ID document, like a digital ID. In this way, identified users can also manage and reuse their identity in the Nect app. In total, around 4 million existing users in Germany already have the option of using the Nect app and thus their Nect ID.

June 4, 2020: Livgang eGovernment Use-Case

A collaboration with the Bundesagentur für Arbeit (Federal Employment Agency). The accelerator of this cooperation was the Covid-19 pandemic. As a result of the pandemic and the consequent layoffs, short-time work and unemployment, the Bundesagentur für Arbeit had to deal with an exceptionally high number of new registrations. At the same time, in-person office visits to contain Covid-19 were to be reduced as much as possible. The digital solution used was the Selfie-Ident process because it could be implemented quickly and fulfilled the highest security requirements to prevent fraud attempts. The process made it possible to cover an enormously high number of identifications. Thus, since June 2020, the Selfie-Ident app has been able to help citizens get assistance as quickly as possible.

September 18, 2018: Livegang mit der R+V Versicherung

R+V Versicherung, one of the five largest insurance companies in Germany, was Nect's first customer. The collaboration occurred at an event, through a common partner, the InsurLab Germany e.V. Collaborative networking and the exchange of ideas was the basis for the cooperation. Thus, the Selfie-Ident process developed by Nect was used for the first time with R+V Versicherung in 2018.
