Smartphone-based visual AI shopping assistant

About the innovation:

We developed the first smartphone-based self-checkout solution that uses embedded deep learning computer vision technology. A patent is filed.
We enhance existing barcode scanning capabilities with AI algorithms which we have made so small and efficient through pruning and quantization that we can perform computer vision (visual AI) embedded, i.e. without cloud connectivity, directly on a terminal.
We completed the first prototype which is currently piloting with several major retailers in Germany. We have built up a strong network of strategic partners.
